It really depends on traction and also gears. If auto is it 2.73s or 3.23s? I would also think the lt1 vs. ls1 thing would be pretty much dead even, if anything the lt1 faster 0-60. LS1s are great motors but they really aren't that much faster if at all untill they get going. They really shine on the top end.

I now have 18x9.5 Z06 rims on Yokohama AVS sport tires. I couldn't spin if I tried, but I can hit 5.7 and 5.8 all day. With the facotry rims/tires I could turn 5.4 or 5.3 good.

but I change my oil every 3k miles, flush my radiator every summer, etc. she is kept up real nice. I mean since I'm not allowed to have a dog in my house, this is my b*tch

well mine is an automatic, plus im sure i have the 273's, and i have beaten cars before that claime they were in arround 5.8, also my car chirps the tires when im racing and it shiftes into second gear, it runs really strong, so im not sure if mine is really arround 5.7 maybe or the other guys just dont know how to drive, but either way it goes pretty good for a stock Z, only flowmaster and no cat.

How do you guys get your 0-60 times. I want to do mine but I wasnt sure what to use. The only thing I know of is the G-Tech and I didnt know if they were accurate enough. Thanks.

I don't know why everybody thinks having a manual gearbox means faster acceleration, you have torque multiplication from the converter and take into account manually shifting a car is not consistent. I guarantee an a4 does 0 to 60 at the exact same rate as the m6.

And like the Phoenix, a 13-year old thread rises from the ashes!

Sorry I have alot of time on my hands I had to. Just got a mint 96 so I was reading up on it in new to the camaro side of things and I knew I'd get battered for commenting on a 13 year old post.

Please don’t take it personally... not intended that way. My apologies. But after being here for 20 years, and getting older and grumpier, sometimes I need a laugh.

Sad part about this thread - after the first couple responses, it deteriorated to the point of being silly. Someone could have posted a link like this one and answered it:
