back in 93, a new camaro with auto was rated at 5.6 seconds 0-60, i cant remember the magazine name, but thats what it stated, now i dont know if thats possible or not with an auto, but that's what it said anyways, a 96 6 speed should be arround 5.3 maybe less, but thats also from some magazine, dont ask me how they get these numbers but thats what ive been reading, ive never tried it myself. but then again the new ls1 is doing approx 5.2, and i know the ls1 is much faster, so im not sure what is the real numbers are, i think it really depends on weather, tires, road, and a lot of times driver.

and also a 6.9 seems very slow for an lt1, my car is sock and i beat my freinds 99 mustang gt all the times, and he claims his is approx 6.0 even 5.8 0-60, so im not sure if an lt1 is as slow as 6.9, my 89 iroc did the 0-60 fater than that all day long, it had the l98 tpi. unless the driver that got 6.9 in an lt1 was busy calling his local autotrader to advertise selling his mustang and buy the lt1, perhaps got a little distracted.

When i was stock I ran 5.4's 0-60. Now its around 4.9's 5 flat's due to traction.

depends if you can get traction

I ran a 4.9 with my lightly modded Z, good launch though.

So i guess high 5's would be a good ball park?

Thats what i see in most of the road and track articles i read about the LT1 camaro/firebird.

I've always read 5.7 seconds with stock tires on a LT1 and 5.3 seconds for the stock LS1.

In either case, it's easily under 6 seconds. I would guess the range is 5.3-5.9 for a stock LT1 depending on driver and road surface.

Haha see what i mean , no one can get a for sure 0-60 time ... the 6.9 rating was on some retarded web site and i knew that was wrong lol ... then i saw like 5.2 and wass thinkin maybe someone who got a good launch ... ? Cause 5.2's are like LT1 Vette times , not F-Bod's ... Their close enough though ....

The LS1 is faster, but mostly up top. And LT1's are known for their low end torque, so the 0-60 times won't be a big difference between an LS1 and LT1. But that's just me talking...I could be the biggest moron on the planet.

I have an idea. How about someone host my video of me racing a LS1 Z28 at the local 1/8 mile track. That will compare 0-60 times. That will show you the low end tq the ole' LT1 has

Its definatly low 5s. There shoudnt be much of a difference between teh 0-60 times of a LT1 and a LS1. Most people dont get pulled on by LS1s till 3rd gear.

yeah, i believe that, i did read that once before in some magazine where the lt1 did 0-60 in 5.5 and the ls1 was 5.3.
