Unhappy what is wrong?

my car takes a while to kick over when i try to start it when it is cold. i thought it might have been the opti. i just did a cam swap and put in a new opti as well and it didnt fix the problem. when the car is warm, for example if i start it up and run to the store for 10 min and then i come out it starts right up but when its cold it just cranks for a good 5 seconds before it rolls over. what is wrong????

Numerous possiblities. One could be a weak coil. Another, IAC problems and on and on... Any other symptoms you are having?

no, no other symtoms. other than the rough start when cold the car runs great. i doubt its a weak coil because i just put in a MSD blaster coil not even a year ago. any suggestions? i was actually thinking either fuel pump or fuel filter.

Those are indeed possibilities, too. If it has been a while, change the filter. You might try cycling your key a few times before starteing, to prime the fuel lines when cold to see if anything changes.

Note that many folks have had Blasters die on them. Not saying yours is, just don't rule it out. Sluggish out of the hole and at top end still might be the coil on it's way out.

yeah its not sluggish at all out of the hole or at high end. that is why i'm not really considering the coil. i was having problems with out of the hole before and it turned out to be the coil but now i just cant figure it out.

Do the filter and if you can, get a fp test gauge to attach to the rail, so you can see if the pressure is good and/or bleeding off rapidly.
