first things first is your car an automatic or stick ??? any gear change is going to affect your rpm, speedo, shifting in an automatic ,let alone run up your mileage quickly in an auto. gears will be of little help to you ,in the 1/4 mile all you will accomplish is lowering your MPH while your E.T. will be about the same ( been there) quicker 60 ft's no top end change if your close to stock. headers won't help either unless you have a good aftermarket exhaust( anything downstream of the headers will be a bottleneck) start with a cat-back and a high-flow cat, then after some bolt-on motor parts go with the headers. SLP loudmouth is the ticket if you don't mind the decibles and the price.

Headers IMO...they are a proven performance mod. I would invest in a stall converter before gears also

if you are getting a cam/heads upgrade you'll definaltly want to do the headers...you'll be choking your engine otherwise.

do the gears next winter...lol, along with a good stall

Definitely the headers. I put on a Flowmaster cat back and I wasn't impressed. All I noticed was that it was louder. Then, when I put on the headers and piped the cat, I was totally impressed. I felt like I had a new car. I hadn't been that excited since the insurance company screwed me.

Definitely the headers, especially with the cam.
