What Valvesprings do i want?!
 
AFR 195 heads with 1.450 OD spring being used with 236/242 XE cam 575 lift

Comp 987 (which compcams recomended)
Specifications:
* Outside diameter: 1.430 in. two spring
* Inside diameter: .697 in.
* Seat load: 121 lbs. at 1.800 in.
* Open load: 388 lbs. at 1.200 in.
* Coil bind: 1.150 in.
* Rate: 344 lbs.
* .590 lift

comp 978 (i wont have to machine anything will i)
* Outside diameter: 1.460 in. two spring
* Inside diameter: .697 in.
* Seat load: 126 lbs. at 1.850 in.
* Open load: 368 lbs. at 1.250 in.
* Coil bind: 1.195 in.
* Rate: 403 lbs.

combo motorsports 618's (anyone know the specs)?


i had AFR 8020's for 20k miles had valvefloat after maybe 15k
* Outside diameter: 1.437 in. two spring
* Inside diameter: .720 in.
* Seat load: 120 lbs. at 1.800 in.
* Open load: 310 lbs. at 1.250 in.
* Coil bind: 1.090 in.
* Rate: 345 lbs.
* .550lift

oh compcams said anything over 150lbs on the seat will colapse the lifter...

618s are 148 on the seat and 370 open installed at 1.80

and people have gotten away with 160 on the seat for stock lifters. and 400 open. but you are asking for trouble.
