what are some easy and cheap bolt-ons
 

I have a 94Z A4 and was wondering what are some of the easier bolt-ons that will help my car perform better. Right now I have the mail order tune,CAI,and KM. I just bought a stall and roller rockers. I have been looking at the adjustable fuel pressure regulator but dont know anything about it. Also I've seen some ported mass air ends but I have heard that this dont help any. I usally run at my local track (1/8th mile). I hate it because I am the only f-body there and all the mustang boys are punking on me. Thanks for any help.

what gears do you have (2:73's) (3:23's)???? how big of a stall did you buy...maybe some 3:73's would be nice. exhuast??

Cheap mod -- piggy-back ud pulley. I saw one in the f/s board not long ago for $25. [for lt1]. Also maybe an exhaust cutout. I have a new 3" by flow tech , you can let me know if interested./- From your mentiontioned mods I would do lt headers and a nx wet kit and you will run low 8s-- high 7s maybe quicker in 1/8. Even better with dr's. Talking money for the stuff I would do. Good luck.

full intake (cai/maf/elbow/tb/intake manifold) full exhaust (header back)

www.madz28.com can give you a pcm tune for 95 bucks (14rwhp) not bad at all

thanks for the help, I am going to do headers later as for the stall I bought a TCI 3000 hope this helps. Also I have the 3:23 gear. Right now my car is running 8.90's through the 1/8th. Just left town and found out how fast the EVO is. That car is quick he put about two cars on me by 80mph.

3.23 are not bad gears 2.73 on the other hand suck bad.I went to 3.42.On street tires even 3.42 is a lot and am sure when install my new 2800 vig that the car will not hook up at all with anything less than actual drag tires.

Best bang for the buck bolt on for you now would be headers.I am going with macs not a big fan of longtubes because of extra noise and ground clearance issues. Also I bought a zex wet kit,nitrous is a big power adder and pretty easy to install.You do need some other stuff though to do it right,purge kit,bottle heater,etc.

There are only so many little bolt ons.tb,cold air,underdrives,free mods like tb bypass.They don't do a whole lot.But cutout could give you a tenth,underdrive might give you a tenth headers should give you 3 or 4 tenths and nitrous over a second .

I expect to hit mid to low 12s with my car this season on spray but not necessarily at the track since its a vert and they will kick me off.This years mods will be tb bypass,g2 induction,holley filter,magnalfo,hpp tuning out,maft,
3.42 gears,2800 vig,asp balancer underdrive,bgf drags or et street radials.



Next year want to be 11s as also have 1.6 pro mags,CC305 and will be buying headers this year and next and heads next year and then install the heads,cam and headers at same time. Figure on spray 11s should be easy heck maybe a 10 is possible,not sure but it would be a bonus. :D

An adjustable FPR is only really good for the '93 LT1 guys. Keep your stock MAF.

My list of bolt on's, in order of which should be done first:
CAI
Catback
Headers
1.6 RR's, with LT4 valvesprings
If you have 2.73 rear gears, then I would look at 3.42's.

People have had alternator problems with underdrive pulleys, and electric waterpumps can be nice, but are prone to failure without any warning.

That's about it. If you really want to make your car more fun to drive, look at some suspension mods. Good shocks, a 35mm front sway bar, and 17"x9" rims with 275/40-17 tires is a huge improvement.

Some things NOT to waste your money on:
MAF (new unit or porting) - Changing will throw off stock readings, often HURTING performance

Under drive pulley: problems with charging, not nearly worth the money

Hypertech: put an extra $75 dollars into it and get a REAL tune

Plug wires (unless yours are not working) - ricer gimick

Tornado - Its almost cheating, it gives you such an advantage

You might want to hold off on a new throttle body until you are making some big power, too.
