what next?

I have a 94' z28. I have the Hypertech Power Programmer, 160 thremo., K&N cold air, flowmaster exhaust, throttle body bypass and a few other minor things. What should I do next. I don't have very much money and I am not interest in spending tons of money. I am getting 3.73 Richmond gears put in very soon also. Thanks for your help

It all depends on what you want to do with the car...road race, drag race, a street car that drives well and that you can take to the track? Are you a 6 speed or auto?...Not knowing your cars goals its hard to say, but I would address the suspension first...good lower control arms, panhard rod and torque arm (adjustable), WELDED sub frame connectors, poly transmission mount, make sure the car is in good tune....if your opti spark is original you might want to look at ignition, etc, service the rear, trans, etc....regardless of what you want to do with the car the above suggestions will be appropriate, I'm sure I'm leaving some stuff out, but this will keep you and your wallet busy for a few.....good luck

I would personally save up for a set of headers before buying anything else.

I vote as well for the headers.

I always do the chassis first, based on a long term plan....imho if you cant hook it, it dont matter how much power youre makin...I start at the back of the car and then move forward...

My car already has great hook believe it or not. Everytime I run a z28, SS, or ws-6 93-97 I jump them like crazy. But they slowly start catching up but never in the 1/8. I want to be set up for 1/8. I considered headers but have had some bad feedback on headers on lt-1. So I already have good hook, I just need more power, i guess.

Do share. Maybe we can clear up some misconceptions.

I've heard that there is little or no gain on headers

LT1s NEED HEADERS!!! Take a look at how restrictive and ugly the stock manifolds are! A good set of shorty headers will gain you 10-15 HP and long tubes will give you 20-25 hp on stock engines. The great thing about headers is you will see greater gains with every mod after them. Even stock with headers you WILL feel a difference. Another great thing about headers is that although they are a PITA to install, they require very little mechanical knowledge to install. I think you will be very satisfied with headers if you choose to do so. Good luck!

That's completely bass-ackwards--the stock exhaust setup is restrictive. Going with a good set of headers/y-pipe/cat-back would give you a good gain.

You heard wrong. Pretty much any header is going to give a significant power increase over the stock manifolds.

"I want to beef my car up more"

this being said...subframe connectors should be your next investment. they make an unbelivable difference in the daily feel of the car...whether it be on the curves or on straight roads. they basically make the suspension do the job of moving to accomodate the changes in the road instead of the car flexing AND the suspension moving.

more power...headers are the next big thing. but like i said, you could do some smaller things to add up to some decent power gains. i'd look into some mac mid lenghts, they are coated and come with an offroad pipe so you don't have to mess with buying that separate
