Your picture links don’t work for me. By the looks of it, they only work for people logged in to YOUR Yahoo email account. You need to save those images to your computer and then re-upload them here as attachments.

Yep, I can see those pics. Unfortunately, I can't answer your question.
What does the hood look like on the car?

Thank god lol ive asked rk sport if its there hood they said no, its a z28 im thinking this is an SS hood? If so and its functional obveiously or would be with propery intake just wondering what ill need, no need to have a none functional ram air intake sitting around.

Yeah i looked up there website and all of there intakes are discontinued. Now im not sure what to do, i have a fipk k and n but honestly its ****, and keeps coming apart over time no matter how much i tighten it, on top of that its not what i consider great for power, even if there is 5hp left in my intake i want it. So ill be looking to make my own ram air, or take a chance that the rk sport one will be close to something i can modify. Any ideas would be nice, dyno run will be next year or this depending on funds lol.

To be honest, it's unlikely you'll get much, if any, ram air effect. I'm certainly no expert, but I doubt you would notice any difference over a traditional cold air intake and that's assuming you can get something assembled that is actually functional.

The SS hood doesn’t seem to be located at a point where it picks up the high velocity air required to see any benefit from “ram air”. Typically, the further you get back on the hood, the more the high velocity layer has separated from the surface of the hood. Look at where the NHRA Pro Stock car air scoops were located (before NHRA made them illegal) - about 12” above the surface of the hood. As they moved the inlet opening further toward the front of the hood, the opening was lowered to within 3” or 4” of the hood.
Then there's the issue of the ducting needed to route the air to the front-facing throttle body. Too many twists, turns, and friction losses. And its sitting on top of the engine, probably the hottest, heat soaking under hood location.
Finally, there's the dependency of the “ram air” effect on (the square of) the velocity of the vehicle. Using the “velocity head” concept, it’s possible to calculate the THEORETICAL pressure gain, and it works out to about a 1% gain at 100 MPH. That’s about 3 HP on a stock LT1. Since the gains are proportional to the square of the MPH, at only 50 MPH, or less than 1 HP. Achieving the theoretical gain is dependent on the efficiency of 100% on the inlet configuration, and you aren’t going to find a high efficiency flow inlet on a mass produced auto hood. Competition scoops are developed in wind tunnels, specific to the individual vehicle configuration. Also not the small opening in your hood. That appears to be a non-functional hood that someone cut a nice rectangular hole in. The factory hood had a larger, full-width opening.
This may explain why some SS owners choose to delete the factory airbox/ducting and opt for a more traditional cold air inlet, or adapt the LS1 “lid” style air inlet. And yes, the outside air coming in from a scoop is cooler, but there are other places to get that cooler air, without the complicated ducting.
A lot of technical jumbo-jumbo.... but condensing it to a blunt statement, spend your money and your effort elsewhere.

Looks like ill be getting a slp and 1le, my current intake is falling apart, has fitment issues, and im not gonna buy a huge dollar rk sport hood and stuff, ill just cut the back out of this one for some heat realease, and hope the new intake with maf ends does the job.

Cutting the back out of the hood may dump water on the PCM and the back of the engine. I took the thick rubber cowl gasket out from under the back edge of the hood, to let hot air out, and everything got wet just from washing the car.
Are there any baffles behind the scoop opening in your hood? If not, where does the water go? I cut both baffles out of my WS6 hood, since it’s basically a track only car, and I had to make a foam plug to push into the back of the hood opening for transit, because just towing it on an open trailer put water on the air filter when I got caught in the rain.
