What did you guys do when it was time for ....

a new motor. Car is a 97 and just hit 95,000 miles. What did you guys do? Buy a new motor, used motor, rebuild. Just looking for options.

im getting mine rebuilt, i figure why not. get a practicly brand new car without car payments or higher insurance, also most rebuild guys will put any internal part you buy in for free since they gotta take it all out anyway so its a good time to hook it up.

we must be related!! I was thinking the same thing.... no payments low insurance. Curious how much does a rebuild cost usually. At first I was thinking of hitting the junk yards.

Why rebuild the engine with 95k miles on it? Unless it is starting to show signs of needing a rebuild I would save your money. These lt1's can normally handle 150k miles before needing a rebuild......

Unless you are just talking about the topend...then I would say it is time for new springs, gaskets and stuff, but the bottom end should still be rock solid.

Dont rebuild it yet, mine car has 160k and I been running nitrous and have LT4 hotcam kit and still running like a champ. You maintain it well and it will last you long.
