What Could This Be ???

I have noticed that when i first start up in the mornings. That i sometimes have a rough idle.Even once it`s warmed up. It has a slght miss in gear. I notice it at stop idle only. However at times when at say 40 to 55 and I let off i can feel surging or then when i give it gas again it stops. I have noticed it still doing the surging at very very light accelaration between the 40 to 55 mph range as well.No other misses at higher rpm`s or anything like that. I have gotten a few o2 bank 2 ses lights. But i thought it might be from a leak. That i have on the right side slp header which i have a hard time locating as it comes and goes.mostly when it`s cold. or when i drive it and let it sit a few min`s and first star it again it really sounds off for about 10 seconds. But not all the time could this be the source of my whole problem? I have also noticed about a 2 to 3 mpg drop in my fuel mileage. at times. Which is not normal for my car.Other than this the car run`s great. This is on a 96 SS A4 car. Any help or thoughts on this? Thanks For Your Time. Mike...

The EGR valve would be a good place to start. You may need to pull it off and make sure it is not carboned up and sticking.

Would it not thorow a ses code if i was having troubles with the EGR? The only code i am getting is the o2 bank 2 code. How involved is changing an EGR on these things? and where is it located at on my car? Thanks For Your Time. Mike...

It is located on the back of the intake manifold. There may not be a code unless there was something wrong with the solenoid or sticking of the valve could result in a related code-perhaps your O2 code.
