What am I missing
I'm Taking out my engine, this is my first rear drive v8 that I'm working on. It's a 94 Trans Am M6, I've got everything off just the shortblock left. I've unbolted the bellhousing off the shortblock and the block won't pull out all the way, it comes out like half an inch. I've been reading and understand theres a clutch fork that's in the way, but dont know the steps I need to take from where I am now to finish.
If anyone can just tell me that would be appreciated. |
Re: What am I missing
Remove the clutch slave cylinder. Its on the driver's side, mounted to an aluminum "cup" that is held on the bell housing with a pair of studs. After you remove the slave cylinder and push rod, grab the clutch fork and yank it hard, in a straight line, away from the throwout bearing. The spring that holds it on the pivot "tee" should pop off and allow the fork to hang loose. You can't get the engine off the trans without doing that.
