Wanting to hit 11's!!!!

Ok guys i bought a LT1 out of a 96 imapala ss complete for 500. I am wanting to hit 11.9 in the 1/4 mile jus to say i have 11 sec car lol. I want to know how to do this. I know stock it has 260 hp and 330tq. I have a 90 camaro with 3:73's and a high performance shift kit w/ vette servo. I want to go bigger than the LT4 hot cam. Then a bigger stall like 3000-3500? Then i dont really know what to do besides a good exshaust and tune. So Just throw some ideas out if you can!
thanks
kevin

are you talking about the LT4 hotcam???
the CC306 is leaps and bounds better than the LT4 hotcam...a lot of the guys on this site have the CC306 cam, and I've even seen a number of people use it in their 383 builds

I'm at work right now, haha, so youtube is blocked...but there are a couple dyno videos... there is a vid of an LT1 camaro with the CC306 and stock heads with full bolt ons that put down like 370rwhp
It's a green one, video is title something like "CC306 on dyno"
just type in CC306 and watch some of the videos, it sounds AMAZING

the recommendations on the site aren't really accurate...you don't necessarily have to have intake work down, but it would obviously help...and it says 2500+ stall but the guys at comp cams recommend at least a 3000, even a 3500 for that cam... headers are also a must and you should get a little head work done so you don't choke the cam down

it's got a very chopper, lopey growl

if you're trying to stay to a tight budget then the CC503 is a good cam, you don't really need any head work done to use it, just a tune and headers, so that would keep your costs down and give you the sound you're looking for
but if you're really looking for 11's you can't go wrong with the 306

this is through an M6, his car is an A4

his goal is track times not peak power

unless he wants to port his heads a cam like the cc503 would probably better suit his goals or custom grind

also pretty much any cam you get you will want to upgrade your convertor, a cc503 is going to be annoying with a stock stall let alone a cc306

he already said he wanted 11.9's...so he was not asking about track numbers, and yes it was a 6 speed but that was just to give him a relative idea of the numbers he should expect...and I already told him about porting his heads for the CC306 and I also already told him that the CC503 would better suit him if he didn't want to spend much or didn't want to port the heads, and he also already has a stall above 3000 and 3.73's so he doesn't have to worry about that
