Re: Vre Engines?????

Do a search on VRE or victory on LT1 tech and you will most likely hear nothing but good about them. They were even nice enough to answer a question for me when I wasn't even one of their customers! I've yet to hear a single bad thing about them.

A "longblock" includes heads/cam installed in most cases, along with the parts of a shortblock. A shortblock is the block/crank/rods/pistons/bearings/caps.

They run specials pretty often that I do not believe are listed on their site.

they are a local business to me, and granted Ive only purchased a set of headers from them, they were a very helpful business to work with.

Re: Vre Engines?????

I bought a VRE 383 LT1 Racer Shortblock - Eagle 3.750” stroke 4340 Crankshaft, Eagle H-Beam Connecting Rods, custom Diamond Pistons
Perfect Circle Rings , Clevite Main Bearings, Clevite Rod Bearings , Clevite Cam Bearings, ARP Main Studs

I have not installed it yet but just looking at the work that went into the Block, machining, cleanliness, piston walls, etc I would not hesitate to do buisness again.
This motor is so clean I could eat off of it.
Here a pic

When they ship the shortblocks they come like this

FWIW if you think those are high prices you need to think about another hobby. They have very good reasonable prices and they are that way because they use good parts in there. I'd also like to think that a motor should be clean like that, you don't get any sort of reliabilty or accuracy without cleanlyness.
