Vortech Elbow Problems !

Hey yall, i just bought the aluminum Vortech intake elbow for my car, and from the minute it was put on it tripped an engine code and messed up the air temperature sensor. The Vortech elbow came with a threaded insert for the sensor and the sensor does not have any threads, when i called Vortech for advice on what to do they told me to thread the sensor. Having done that we got it in and it caused it to crank slow and run rich and rough. I bought another sensor incase the stock one was damaged(this one was brass and not plastic so it was stronger to thread). Still the same problem, engine light, slow cranks, rough riding. If anyone has had similar problems let me know what you did to fix them. Thanks.

Your suppose to get a die set and cut the treads on the the sensor. Can't remember the size your suppose to use but it should say in the instructions that came with it. That way it screws in like a regular old bolt.

I rigged mine in there needed it fixed in a hurry. Drilled out the hole some. Put some rtv sealant on the sensor and shoved it in the hole. Works fine no leaks. Doens't look the best though

I just hope that none of your rtv comes loose and gets sucked into the intake.

And which engine code is getting triggered? Likely it's your MAF sensor that's not connected properly (bent pin, damaged wire etc). I don't recall if the IAT throws a code if it's disconnected.
