If you have arcing to ground from a wire, it needs to be replaced. There is no cheap fix.

Im sorry, I do not follow.

I have a spark generating from one of the wires. It may be loose or broken. I havent been able to pinpoint it, because it was too dark.

I had the person that did my engine swap change my wires recently, and now this mess. Im afraid that it may cause an explosion of some nature

Re: Visible Spark from Spark Plug.

hey dude, I have been having the same fricken problem. My msd coil glows, and summit replaced that three times for me, and right along with the 8.5 superconductors. I have had them replaced 3 times. But, my problem is the corona effect. it is a glowing coming from the boot to the plug hex. There is no pronounced arc, just the glowing. I am going to try some elitesparkplug.com wires, as one person on here had my problem and switched to them with no problems now. I will be going otvc wires.
hope this helps a little.

I had the same thing "corona effect" and also my msd was arching to the metal bracket. I changed the wires from taylor's to some otvc wires from elite and all my problems went away.

Glowing at the plug or a visible corona is not a problem and not abnormal. Arcing is a problem.

Arcing=meaning a spark jumping from the wire to the metal of the engine or frame (ground). Usually accompanied by a "snapping" noise.

Re: Visible Spark from Spark Plug.

yeah shoebox, sorry for the confusion... arcing is definately a bigger problem then my corona. Its just annoying though, cuz it idles kinda crappy and I can't help thinkin the corona is taking spark from the plug...

Re: Visible Spark from Spark Plug.

Your plug wire could not be on all the way, or it could have damaged it by it burning on the manifold. Other than that, no reason at all.
