vibrating shift ****

hey guys,
got a 97 six speed z28, just installed jet hot lt's and hooker y-pipe, had both motor mounts off, we were jacking up the engine by the transmission,,,

when i'm on the highway in 6th gear at about 16-2000 rpm's my shift **** shakes alot, also when its in neutral at a stop, it still shake a little bit, and sometimes under acceleration. what could be causing this? a transmisison mount? are they hard to change??

Your running on 7 cylinders because you burned a plug wire or cracked a sparkplug

Just think how fast it will be once its running on 8!

I highly doubt you jacked it high enough to screw up your tranny mount, did you loosen it?

Your stick will shake because if your running on 7 cyl your motor just isn't balanced anymore. your only getting 7/8 of your torque delivery.

Where was the one that you took out cracked? did you reuse it? If so, DefinitlY replace that before you do anything else.

95% of people's problems after headers are plug wire issues and the symptoms are just as you described I was very carefull with my wires and didn't burn any like most people do, but i did crack a sparkplug since i put the headers in place without tightening them down, then put in the sparkplugs, then tightened the headers down.
