Valve Spring Question

Hello. I own a 1991 RS, that will be undergoing an LT1/T-56 swap next month, so right now I am doing all of my research and part gathering. I have done a lot of searching here and other message boards to avoid asking stupid questions that have been addressed many times before. Well here it is:

I have noticed the CompCams 305 is popular here and decided I will be using it. At CompCams website they have two different valve spring recomendations depending on which particular page you are one. They are a single spring (983-16) and a double spring (986-16). Which would the best for use with this cam? I never plan on going with forced induction, not ever producing gobs of power.

And in case you care what my car looks like (Along side a friend's T/A)

The single spring would be enough for what you're doing. Unless you're going to race a lot. If not, the single is strong enough.

I second the vote for the 987 springs. Haven't heard a single complaint, and it may save you from paying a new set if you do a cam upgrade.

The price difference can't be THAT bad either...they're only $89; worth the few extra $$$ to get the better of the bunch.
