Valve guides and 1.7 RR's

Are 1.7 rockers really going to wear out the guides that much faster than 1.6's? I'd like to try them with a Hot Cam that I picked up cheap. Since the cam is not that big is there less wear compared to a larger cam? Wouldn't a larger lobe cause the rocker tip to travel farther across the valve tip? I guess what I want to know is, wouldn't a small cam with 1.7's be no worse on the guides than a larger cam with 1.6's would be?

Thanks, Rick

Nobody? I really could use some insight on this.

Depends on what your total lift is.

Below .550 lift is very reliable. Above that you will see more pushrod deflection.

So no it doesn't really matter if you have 1.7s on a stock cam or 1.6s on a bigger cam.

The lifters and valve springs will wear out faster on either setup if the lift is high and you rev to the moon.

what would the lift be with the hotcam w/1.7 RR, I assume that you are talking about the scorpion rocker arms? anyone used these have any input , are they good or crap?

Ive got the scorpions w/ the hotcam. They are a very well made piece, and theyre rebuildable if anything does go wrong down the line. I havent been able to get to the track yet, but I can say that the car runs STRONG.
