Using teflon tape on spark plug???

Using teflon tape on spark plug???

Could i use teflon tape on a spark plug. it doesnt seem to go all the way in the hole and it is leaking alittle. Would using teflon tape work. Thanks.

You need to use anti seize on the plugs.

do i need to use anti-sieze with the teflon tape or just anti-sieze??

i dont know why it wont go in, i think it might be crossed threaded. i was told that i could try to use a thread chaser, but i dont want to mess anything up....

Did you check where the spark plug seats in the head for crud or something preventing it from seating.

not to be a jerk...but it sounds like something is already wrong...

see if maybe one of the other plugs will fit in the hole, if thats the case...get a new plug...if not, doesnt look like you've got much of a choice.

If you do decide to run a tap down the threads you should buy a tap that is made to use on a head. NAPA now has them available with a cup type magnet on the end so that no metal shavings fall into the cylinder wall. Just a thought

Magnets not going to do much on aluminum heads!
Teflon tape would 'insulate' the ground too...
Anti seize is whats used on plugs..
