Twisted fuel line, is this ok to do?

My moronic friend, who i thought would be smart enough to do it(he owns a 87' 5.0 which he works on all the time), tried to take my fuel filter off and didnt hold the line bolt, so he twisted my line, i bought a line which has the connecting bolt for the fuel filter and has a double ended connector, Is it ok for me to cut the line past the twist and attach the new line which is like a foot and a half long with the connector piece? It should be sufficient right? Becuase it was alot better than buying a whole new line which costs $82, this one cost me $13

I did the same thing last year....I ended up getting the whole new line at the dealership.....cost like 55 bucks and that was at wholesale price. Not sure if you can just replace a single portion of it, but be careful and do it right cause you dont want your fuel line to rupture.

if it is a hard plastic fuell line Napa has a repair kit for them that you just heat the line up and slide the brass barbed fitting in the line. Splice it back togather with the repair kit and it will be as good as new of yea there about 5 bux here.

oh ok if it is a metal line then you should be able to just cut the twisted part out of the line and replace it with regular metal line using compression fittings.
