Tune ?
 

Hello all. I am looking into geting my PCM redone and have a few questions.

My mods are a K&N panel filter and a Borla catback. I am looking into long tube headers. Will the tune need to be redone if I decide upon the LT's later on?

For what you have now doesn't require a tune. Getting headers then a tune would be best.

A stock engine will pick up 10-15HP with a "tune". Its worth it, compared to the cost of gaining that kind of HP with other added parts. If you get it tuend now, most mail-order tuners will retune it later at a reduced cost, like when you add the LT's.

One says " no" , one says " yes" to a tune with what I currently have. I'll ask this. Will a tune with the current mods I have imporve MPG , drivability and all that senciable stuff?

I wouldn't bother.

The answer is "NO", you don't need a tune. It should be running fine with those minor mods - fuel mileage and drivability should not be a problem. Not sure what the other sensible stuff is, so can't answer that.

I said "YES" because I thought you were interested in performance, not fuel mileage and drivability. Spending the money now, will reduce the cost of future tunes. Its up to you whether the HP gain is worth it, but that doesn't seem to be what you're interested in, so don't do it if you don't want to.
