tube coming from passenger side valve covers

tube coming from passenger side valve covers

its coming from the back to the side of the throttle body.

what is this??? and what does it do

For the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation). Google "positive crankcase ventilation" for a variety of explanations of what it's for.

thanks, just curious....................what would i do with it if i got new valve covers that didnt accomodate for it???

As stated it's a breather tube for the PCV system and is neutral flowing. If you get valve covers w/out it you at least need to use a breather that screws into the oil fill. The engine must have circulation. If you are doing this for a means of cheaper covers you can find used center bolt valve covers w/ breather for very little money.

i was just curious wtf it was.........im not really getting new valve covers, it was a hypothetical situation

I have seen some pics of the composite LT4 valve covers, and it looks like they don't have the hole for that tube, so what would you do then? Or does it have a hole in the side of the cover, where you can't see the hole?

To further clarify, the actual PVC valve is in the manifold on the left(drivers) side. I haven't seen an LT4, but there has to be an air source for the PVC to work. If it's not in the valve cover it would have to be some where else.
