TRAnsMision problem PLEASE HELP!!
 

hi guys i have a question,my 1994 TA GT v8 5.7L is automatic
the thing is that whend im goin over 70 mph and i hit the gas a little the rpms seem to go up but i see that the car has problem aceleratin, it kind makes alot of noise like u could hear the ingine all the way rpms to almost 4500 or 5.000 but car wont pick up good, but if u floor it then it well pick up and 4rth well kick in!


any ideas, this is my first time i have a trans am 1994 V8 and it seems wierd that at over 70 mph it kinds gets stuck there , if u acelerate it seems like it has ahard time to goin to 4rth, u have to floor it for it to go to 4rth.

its that normal???????????

i have been as fast as 143 mph it gets there fast, but some times i noticed it has a hard time goin into 4rth,whend it goes to 4rth it flyes hehe.

Are you saying that when you floor it your car goes into 4th?
Your car only has 4 gears, so I don't understand what is going on here...
When you floor it on the highway your car should go from 4th to 3rd, possibly 2nd, depending on how fast you're going.

But in general if you're having shifting or slippage problems it required a rebuild, most tranny problems are over the average camaro modder's head. - I've seen some diagrams of the 4L60E and that just made it more confusing.
