Torque arm question?

I was planning on buying a Sphoon torque arm this winter but I am having second thougts. My car is mostly a daily driver, as long as the weather is nice. I have heard that the torque arm is very noisy(a.k.a. clunking noises?) Is this true? How many of you have daily drivers with torque arms that do not mount to the tranny?

I have the Spohn torque arm with the poly mount. You'll definitely get more vibration, but not as much vibration as a poly tranny mount. When I dumped the poly tranny mount and went with the 1LE, I saw a big reduction in interior vibration. I've logged 30K miles with the Spohn torque arm and the ride is fine.

I have the MAC TA. It definetly made the car feel more solid. Does have slightly more vibration than the stock one. Do you have any other suspension mods yet such as LCA's, etc.? If not I'd look into those first and maybe do the TA later. JMO.

I think that the more noisy problem is the people who get the torque arm with the spherical rod end. THAT WILL transfer a lot of noise into the interior.

I have a Jegster torque arm on mine, and I drive it every day. It takes some getting used to...you'll have vibrations, some clunking, and a lot more noise inside the car. I just turn the stereo up and ignore it. It's not so bad once you get used to it.

Yes I have SFC's, STB and LCA's. I found a pretty good deal on ebay for a new one, but I don't know if I want to buy it now. I get enough vibration from the cut-out, but I'm don't really want to hear clunking sounds. I think i might just save up for a set of Cmotorsports Stage II heads and 4:10's.

Does anyone run the BMR one that does not attack to the tail shaft on the tranny?

OBVIOUSLY u should buy it.

Take a look in the drag racing section, there are ppl that shaved a tenth off their 60 foot times just with the edition of a good Torque Arm.
