throwing service engine light.....need help!

throwing service engine light.....need help!

at low rpms or normal driving my car runs smooth and sounds good but when giving it a hard acceleration it seems to miss and throw service engine light doesn't want to shift i cn't figure it out anyone have any ideas?

You need to find someone with a code reader or scan tool that can pull the codes.

well i took it to autozone and they said that they don't have a code reader for that model and took a paper clip the port under the dash and said that it should flash a code through my service engine light and it didn't flash a code or anything do they make code readers for these models

Autozone never has a OBD1 Scanner, they have it for OBD2. Your 1994 Camaro is OBD1, Those guys don't know what there talking about. Go to Pep Boys, Im sure they will have a OBD1 Scanner, if they don't do it for free. I'm sure they can at least sell you one.

Yes, you can get an OBDI code reader or scan tool. The paper clip trick doesn't work on '94 and up.

I think Pep Boys charges you to read the codes.
