Throttle cable too short after lt1 engine swap

Maybe some one can shine some light on this cuz im totally confused. Long story short I did a LT1 swap into a '96 v6 Camaro body. I kept the v6 throttle cable in there cuz its only an inch or two longer then the one in the LT1 camaro donor car. Now comes the part I dont get. With the cable being slightly longer it should mate up just fine, right? Wrong... for some reason when I connect the cable it becomes so tight that the butterfly is pulled wide open all the way. There is no slack or give what-so-ever and this is without any pedal pressure. Is there something im over looking on this? Does something need to be adjusted to get it some more slack from the cable to let the butterfly down? Is the accelarator pedal different from the v6 to v8 cars?

you need to get the v-8 cablt at the dealer its only like 15 bucks
they are not adjustable

Did you take both cables out, lay them on the ground, and measure them? Why didn't you just use the cable from the donor car?

I still have the cable out of the donor car. I havent tried it yet b/c it appears that the v6 on is longer...

Well, try it. ;)

The cable itself could be longer, but the range of the cable could be shorter. If you know what I mean? (ie, the distance that it can move through the sleeve is less)

you can try and cut a part of the sleeve off.
