Thread Sealer?

What should be used when installing sensors such as oil pressure and coolant temperature sensors? I know GM uses some sort of red thread sealant on the threads of the sensors from the factory but what should I use. Since the sensors get their ground through the threads is something like ARP thread sealant ok to use or will it insulate the sensor from the block and cause faulty readings?

Re: Thread Sealer?

Is it a sealent or a lubricant? Maybe it's just locktight, that stuff can be Red too.

the stuff GM uses is a teflon based sealer, you can use any of the liquid teflon thread sealer, but NOT the tape
