temp gauge issue?

well i had blown my head gaskets back in september and i got the motor put back together last month. i replaced the temperature sensor for the gauge thats inside the head.

now i have not driven the car at all, opti went out on me so i bought the Delteq system and also trying to install my 1.6rr, or rather adjust them..

anyhow before the opti craped out on me in my drive way the car sat there running outside for bout 25 mins while i cleaned the floor in the garage. now it was like 75 or something outside. i noticed my temp gauge sitting at 210.. my car is a 94 z28 with a s-trim. now i don't think there is any air trapped in the cooling system, cause the radiator sucked down all the fluid and is full and no low coolant lights on or check gauges ever came on.i also cracked open the bleed off valve.. i could swear before the gauge sat at 160-170... here is the story, now one of the water pump hoses came lose at 138mph and right away the gauge went to 220 or as far as it will read.
i have 160 stat-electric fan switch-madz28 set the computer to also run the fans cooler. now was it cause the car didn't run long enough to move the temp gauge or could it be kinda stuck? i installed white face gauges back in 1998 and never noticed any problem. could the needle be hung up? once i get it running i will use my scanmaster to see what the engine temp is.. i have no other ideas why the gauge is still reading high? help

Therm could be stuck? Cheap to check.

Also, just remember these are a pita to bleed. I know it usually takes me several tries/days to get my low coolant light off.

ah i would doubt it would be stuck it only has like 10,000 miles on it but maybe from running dry it could have? never got any low coolant lights or warning lights, so i think i can rule out any air trapped or the thermo having any issues... ??

Re: temp gauge issue?

Was the A/C on when it sat? Mine will run hot also if the A/C is on and I idle for a while, with both fans on even.

When the motor's cold, is the needle pointing below 160? If so, it's not stuck.
