tell me if this sounds like the opti

If Im cruising at 55 in drive and I dip into the throttle a little bit I can get it to backfire. If Im cruising at 70 in over drive and dip in to it just right it feels like it has a dead spot where it will stumble real bad then go. If Im crusing at low speed and just bearly have my foot on the gas it feels like it misses. Also if I floor it from a dead stop it takes off perfect but when it gets into the upper rpm it feels like it is losing power. I am running stock plugs and opti and have 82,000 on the odometer.

Ive been searching in the archives and a lot of people seem to be having similar problems. But I am wondering if it is more than just the opti a combination of things.

Just do everything at once and be done with it. Opti, plugs, wires, coil.

When you say stock plugs do you mean they have never been changed or they have been replaced before but with stock style plugs? If they are the original plugs with 82K I think that could be a big part of the problem. I would do plugs and wires at the same time too and see if that fixes it. New O2 sensors would be a good idea as well since they are most likely the originals. I would do those first and if it doesn't help then maybe the opti but its much more involved and expensive, replace the cheaper parts first and see if it helps, most likely that's all it needs for a tune up.

I mean they have never been changed. The coil is newer it is the msd coil I have to run that because I need two ports one to plug the digital 6 ignition into. I wanted to put off the nightmare of changing plugs until I got headers, but I might as well do it now.
