If i had money to burn i would get the AS&M they are suppose to be the best quality of all the TB's. I on the other hand, went with a BBK TB. It has worked flawless for me. I've heard lots of problems with Holleys, but fewer problems with the BBK.

Thumbs up Re: Which TB to get?

I have a BBK 52mm and it works great. The inside of it was not polished though. Kind of a disappointment to me. I did the polishing myself. Maybe that is why it is $200 more...? The fit and function is perfect on my BBK. I got it from Brothers Performance in CA for $205.oo + shipping. It came with a gasket and new bolts also.

205.00 + ship...two hundred five dollars..Brothers Performance in CA. They mostly sell Mustang stuff but they have alot of BBK stuff for all makes of hot rods. They were great to deal with. I originally saw them selling on eBay. My BBK has given me good performance with no problems at all.

I sent a LT1 engine to Clinton Township, Michigan last year..small world..was that you I sent it to?

Re: Which TB to get?

I hate BBK throttle bodies. Very poorly engineered IMHO. I had trouble with my BBK 52mm one regarding the TPS. You HAVE to slot the stock TPS to make it work with the BBK. As for the AS&M one, I have heard nothing bad about it. I recommend porting the stocker. That's what I did and no TPS adjusting was needed. I just use 52mm for my application, and I see no need to go as high as 58mm unless you are pushing massive amounts of horsepower. You can easily find a ported stock one for $130 and you get the added benefit of more of a sleeper look.

Re: Which TB to get?

I used to run a bbk and never had a problem with it. The only thing i didn't like about it was that the inside had a rougher finish to it but nothing a few minutes of dremeling didn't take care of.

Re: Which TB to get?

I don't think there is any performance diff. between the two. The AS&M looks ALOT better, but for the money the BBK can't be beat. I understand there have been some tps issues with the BBK and all but I think it is still a great peice for the cash. If money is no object for the TB then deff. go AS&M.
