TB and Coolant Bypass

Today my car received a 52mm throttle body and the coolant line was bypassed. I definately noticed a difference in power(maybe 15 to the wheels...seriously) and also noticed my shifts changed. It shifts much easier and less noticeably in regular driving... Is this good, or even possible with what was modded? It feels odd, but it doesn't feel like it is hurting the car. Any help is appreciated.

15? To the wheels? Really? ..... I dunno about that. Sounds like 15 SOTP gain. :)

But hey maybe your car needed the breathin'

 I dunno man, 15 to the wheels what you get from a major bolton like headers or MAYBE catback if you're lucky. I've seen dyno graphs of the TB bypass and it was a 1-2hp diff under heatsoak, and you could even attribute that to dyno error. I also have a ported TB and felt a very slight difference, mainly a harder pull up top. You might need to look and see if there was something wrong with the throttle body you took off, like not fully opening.

The whole tb and intake were caked with carbon. Cleaning that up could have helped. Know anything about it changing the way my car shifts? That's what I'm really worried about.
