what deos tb bypass do? where can i get the plug material?

Spllouder 01-18-2004 01:50 AM

Theres another thrend back some ways if u wanna read more . but what it does is the hot 170- 230 deg water is going thru the TB heating the air up going to the motor . doing the bypass will cool ur intake air alot . GM did this for Very cold driving weather so if u live in north canada dont do it or if u live in below frezzing temps.

u can get a hard line at a auto parts store or even a home depot .
cost = $2 bucks i havnt done this yet but will tommrow.

I have a 95 ta and I believe it's the exact same all I did was disconnect the line from the drivers side of the tb and removed the small line on the pass. side of the tb. You don't need that piece shown in the pic. all you have to do is connect the 1st hose you diss. the long one that connects to the top of the radiator to the metal line that goes on the pass. side of the intake manifold. Or where the end of the shorter rubber hose connected to. it's easy.

You won't do it that way with a 93-4... you need a 3/8' hose barb..
95-7 you don't need one.. the above method works for those years..
There's 2 different hose configurations for 4th gen F bodys..

I went to Menards and spent $2.00 on the brass part to connect the hose together I already had the hose clamps.

tb bypass

does the tb bypass caule any trouble codes or the ses light to come on? can you fell a noticeable performance gain?

how do you keep sensor lights off when removing the air pump and related parts?

i didnt feel any power gain really when doing mine. i think is more or a mod for 'tweaking' your engine, IMO
