Suspension Q's. What's the differences? Lowering, etc.
 

I must be having a brain fart or something, but I can't figure this stuff out.

Here's the deal - on this project car of mine, I started out with a '94 V6 car. OK, so far, I have put in a '98+ rear end, and will soon be changing all the K-Member stuff to match the '98+ LS1 cars (this car is getting an LS1).

What I need to know is - what is the difference between all of the suspensions? Why is there different lowering kits for the '93-'97 V6's/V8's and the '98-'02 V6's/V8's? The '98+ V8 rear section went on the car fine with no problems, and I just left the stock V6 springs on it. The same could be done with a '93-'97 V8 rear end. So why the different lowering kits? Is it all based on the front suspension? And if so - does that mean I will need a '98+ V8 lowering kit for this car, even though it is a '94?

Does that make sense? Help? Please? Thanks!

V-6 engines are the lightest so the front coils reflect that. LS1 are are lighter than the LT1's. Most aftermarket coils work either way ls1/lt1 the lt1 might go a little lower cause of the weight.

So it is all basically based on the front springs? I know that the V6 springs are softer than the V8 springs etc. - especially the rear ones - which I would like to have the softer ones - and I should be able to use those with an all LS1 setup basically, I would just have more rear-end "sag" when I get in it. So the front I would still need LS1 or LT1 lowering springs just to support the weight - other than that, no difference?
