supercharging a stroker
if i were to supercharge a 396 what would be the best to use on the street. and best for the track?
i don't have neither.. i'm just thinking about it. i can dream can't i? and what kind of crazy HP numbers are possible with a combo like that? |
It all depends on how streetable you want it.
You can go all out with a built 396, AFR heads, and a slap on a 15psi blower and run 9s. Not very streetable though. Or you could run less boost and less cam and run low 11s and be very streetable. All depends on how much money you want to spend and how streetable you want it. |

I agree from what i have heard. I am a big NA guy so dont have expierence with any of them. (Although the next motor might have dual power adders- stay tuned :metal: ) power limits- sky is the limit. 800fly wheel hp isn't that hard to attain and still be streetable in my opinion, but then again- street able is a VERY relative word around here:death: |
i'm thinking about a crate motor from cmotorsport. would it be better to grab a short block from them? and buy afr heads separatly?
with everything forged. crank.rods. and pistons. would nitrous be an over kill? saying that you have the built up 396, and 15 boost. with a direct port nitrous setup.. how much nitrous can be used before it starts to get dangerous. haha that sounds so sweet. |

I've been looking into this very exact thing lately(except with a 383) and you can count on spending some big $$$ either way. It WON'T be cheap! :D
