SUPER RAM LT1 INTAKE gains 60lbs of TQ

Re: SUPER RAM LT1 INTAKE gains 60lbs of TQ
Like I mentioned before I suppose this superram intake is all about what you want your car to do. If you plan on reving the thing to the Moon and you have a big stall and lots of gear, The Superram was not built for your intentions. I really plan on getting one of these intakes, I am positive I can make more Power in TQ and Maybe even HP and still rev the car to 6200-6500. Anytime you can get 50-40 MOre HP thoughout the Midrange is going to run the Hell out of a car that can't. I really think this Intake is for the basic LT1 street car with some Track time as well. BTW heres a thread that I find that really discusses this intake well.

Also in this link they test the 2 intakes in a race and Dyno

Also I have found through research that a FULLY ported LT4 intake manifold hits a wall at 250CFM, I have heard of ported SR's going 280CFM all day probably more. Thinking about it logically guys a LT1 intake is a short runner intake design intended to pull alot of RPM to make power. Well thats a problem b/c most of use don't want to rev our cars to 7000RPM + b/c RPM is Very hard on the motor and our stock Computers can only handle 7000 RPM give our take a little. Why do you think the Ls1 is a long runner Intake like the SR, b/c it makes awsome power EVERYWHERE. The reason LS1 are dynoing 450RWHP on stock bottom ends is b/c of there overly better intake designs. We can get our LT4 heads in the same range of LS1 heads. I do understand that not everyone wants to spend that type of money, but the power gains will be substantially better, not to mention a quicker car

Yes but it depends on what AFR's your talking about the 180 and 190 heads fit the LT1 intake and the 195, 210, 220, and 227 heads fit the LT4 maniflold.
engineermike, never heard of a LT4 intake flowing that, but I suppose it is possible, and I know FULLY ported can definatly be over used.
Funny thing, I just read were they had a Ported SR flowing 279.6 at .500 lift in a article.

Found it http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...ing/index.html
Also this car is a emission legal car with cats, shorty headers, you get the point and manages to run high 11's, and be very streetable in doing so.

"The result was an intake port that flowed 279 cfm at .500-inch lift without the use of a radiused inlet fixture"
Also, this quote was below the picture showing just the head on the flowbench:
"the intake port flowed 279.4 cfm at .500-inch lift"

Re: SUPER RAM LT1 INTAKE gains 60lbs of TQ
Digging up the dead.1995 Corvette owner, so don't **** on me. I have a 388 with LT4 Heads and Intake and a laundry list of other things. .585 cam. Runs low 11's N/A with 4.10's. I have at least one maybe 2 SuperRams and I have a NOS LT1 base. I wonder if it would be worth the trouble to have my ports welded on the intake to accommodate my Lingenfelter ported heads and use the SuperRam. I have a spare rear end I could put any gear in, currently 3.45. I think the SuperRam and smaller gears might benefit me. I could also put a bigger cam in. Springs go to .650, so a little over .600. Input? Flame away!
