SummitRacing throttle body thumbs up

I just finished putting in the Summit Racing TB, SUM-227701, 52mm, in the 93Z and have to say, " No problems.."

Only thing I had to do was to replace the 94-97 thottle cable plate for the 93, and I adjusted the idle screw to my original TB, before putting on..

It started up at 900~1000 RPMs and at warm was iding at 700~800.... Nice throttle response with no sticking...

So for around 250 dollars, I am a happy camper...

Installation 30~45 minutes, taking my time..

PS: Tools need for installation T15 torx and 6mm hex(allen) wrench..

Nice, I have a 93 Auto so I feel your pain on trying to find a TB that will work. I have a spare ported 93 Intake thats ported for a 58mm and want to have it powder coated and throw it on, but finding a TB for a 93 is such a pita and didnt feel like paying the money for a BBK or AS&M. Good to know!

Nice fit and smooth...... I didnt see any imperfections...... Only thing I was worried about was the idle.....

But like I stated above, no probs....... Maybe I got lucky on this one...

Its just the satin one, Care less about bling... Just performance...

Since the 93Z is speed density, might make a differance, since I had less problems than others with 94s and up.. No MAF??????????

Nice to see a feedback post about these, for the price, it catches alot of interest but nobody is too sure how it performs since it is newer to the market.

Because he didn't want to port the intake.

I got a 58mm summit throttle body, and I am very pleased with it too looks really nice, no throttle sticking, no sucking sound, all machining looks very nice. My IAC were really high so I had to adjust the idle stock screw to crack the blades open, I ain't going to blame it on the trottle body could be because of the large cam

I have been doing alot of research, and the 58mm does not fit in my equation....

Has nothing to do about porting the intake.... People need to learn not to speak up for others..... All they do is put their foot in their mouth...

Well you haven't listed your mods and that's the most obvious and common reason. Great job at being a jerk.

I also am very satisfied with the Summit 58mm.

For the IAC counts, I initially cracked the blades open, but idle was rough/uneven and the blades had to be opened quite a ways. Maybe 4-5 turns on the screw. I drilled the bypass hole (5/32) and was able to close the blades most of the way, with IAC around 80. Enlarged the hole to 3/16 and now blades are nearly closed, with IAC around 20-60 depending on conditions. At the same time, I installed a tube in the TB, in the engine side of the IAC passage, so it would mate to the IAC passage in the manifold. Together, these 2 mods significantly improved the idle quality and reduced smoke/stink at idle. Both are fairly common mods - you can find pics/instructions searching here. Simple and effective.
