Just like the title says...are sub-frame connector's worth it?

If you want a car that rides bery tight, is squeakless, and feels like none other, get them. If not, go without. I have one car with and one car without subframes, and the difference is night and day.

I totally agree with fastbird93 , when I installed mine the only regret I had........... was it should have been one of my first mods.

I have the same car as you Myth and just wanted to compliment you on your list of mods. Good God man you have done a lot of boltons. I'm pretty excited that I'm running a consistent 13.26 with Jethot LTs, Moroso CAI, 3" Y, no Cats, open Borla & 555r's, stock 3:42 gears, 6spd and that's it. Sheesh with heads & cam (coming soon) I should be sitting pretty good till I do the stroker in a couple years. I can't wait to get the subframe connectors on, would you recommend BMR(reasonable) or Double Diamond (expensive)???

The general concensus seems to be that the BMR style are adequete for street and strip driving, and the double diamond shape come in to play more for a road race/autoX application.

This is good news. My next mod is going to be subframe connectors, the BMR tubular style.

What were the things you noticed the most after they were installed?

After I installed my Bilsteins, the ride is rougher, and I want to make sure to put subframes on so I don't get too many rattles.

I bought mine from T-Byrne...I can't remember offhand who the manufacturer is. But I noticed a difference almost right off on rough roads. Once you get them on...take your car over a speed bump (don't go faster than you would usually). You'll feel a difference for sure.

I can't speak for aftermarket suspensions though since I dont' have any experience with them, but I don't see why it couldn't help.

Only thing is if you have squeeks as a result of the rear suspension, then don't expect them to just go away. I've heard spraying a mixture of alcohol and graphite on the rear spring mounts helps tremendously with it though.

steromandan, compare the ride to that of stock shocks to bilsteins, im going to buy hd bilsteins but i dont want the ride to firm up to much

The Bilstein HD's are a stiffer shock, no doubt. It's just where I want it though. I wouldn't want anything more. The first thing I noticed is how well they controlled the car even on nice roads. It feels like the whole car is damped, which makes sense, but I was surprised how well they control the whole car. You'll notice it right away. I get a little less body roll on hard turns also. I also don't notice the rear end hopping as much around choppy corners.

They were a big improvement and I only had 55,000 miles on my stock shocks before the change over.

They do make for a little rougher ride on choppy roads, but nothing worth complaining about. The tradeoff is well worth it. Bumps now sound like one good thump, instead of Thump Thump, if that makes sense. They are not as stiff as many of the other aftermarket shocks, so they were perfect for me, using them on a daily driver. At first, they didn't seem much stiffer, but after about 500 miles, they stiffened up a little, at least it seems to me. They are a great shock.

Cool

SFC and STB are good inprovements for unibody design strength.

BMR makes a reasonable priced product which fits and works well.

I removed my stock Koni DA shocks and put in some SLP Bilsteins to make the ride less rough. I don't auto x. The SLP Bilsteins are great for a daily driver.

SFCs should be one of the very first things done to the car. I couldnt believe what a difference they made. Felt like a whole different car! SFCs are easily one of the best chassis mods that can be done if not the best.

I've heard the price range is about $60-120. Depends on who you know and what they charge.

Mine cost 90 to weld in....it took close to 3 hours though...so thats a good price...the welder had a hard time getting the bolts in the back through on the passenger side...
