I will take any advice on getting this stupid thing off because I have fought this thing for over two hours and it wont budge! I am using a three claw puller it aint working for me. I need advice. Anyone got any? How did you previously get it off. THanks.

Assuming you have the center bolt removed, you need to make sure the center "pin" of your 3 jaw puller is pushing on the crank (via the hole the screw came out of) and not on the center of the hub.

The easiest way Ive found to pull them is the way the manual tells you to. By installing a longer bolt into the crank to push off of, instead of the crank itself which could screw up the threads. Just go the the hardware store and get a bolt with the same threads but about 4-4 1/2 inches long. Thread it into the crank and use it to push off of. It will slide off and you just pull the bolt out of the crack and it all comes off. That should do it. Also the 3 jaw puller is about usless when pulling an LT1 hub. the best thing to use it the puller that is similar to a steering wheel puller which uses the damper mounting holes. BUT you dont use the damper mounting threads to pull the hub. You get longer bolts that are smaller than the damper mounting bolts that will pass threw the holes then put a nut and a washer on the back side of the hub so you dont pull the threads out of your hub. Hope that helps.

When one of the ears broke off my hub, I had to do it ghetto style - socket + exhaust hanger between the hub and the timing cover, and threaded the bolt through to back it out.

Use a balancer puller, not a claw puller.

I used a steering wheel puller and some longer bolts put through the hub. Worked like a charm. As stated, get a longer bolt to push off of.

Well, here is what has happened so far. While I was trying to take the hub off...with the three claw puller...the center arm(whatever it is called) on the three claw puller that pushes against the bolt slipped off the bolt and put a nice gash into the head of the bolt causing the three claw puller to move that way and not stay centered. I am going to go get the steering wheel puller one that boolts into the hub. I think that is the smartest way to go. Other than that, the cam install is going well...

I am installing a 227/233 XR comp cam with a 112+2 LSA. 612 spring kit and 1.6 crane cam roller rockers. Hardened push rods, ED Timing Set, getting rid of my SLP shorties and going to pacesetter long tubes - so the SLP's will be for sale in the next month or so...depending on money and other important factors... and I will also be dressing up the engine a little bit. I will make sure to keep every updated on how it goes. It is going to be a long process because the car is at home and I will be at college. Anyways, I believe that catches everything up. I am sure I will have plenty of questions as this is my first cam install...so i will take any advice you experts have.

Thanks.
