stumble/breakup under heavy throttle after cam swap
Alright, so under heavy throttle the car is kind of stumbling/breaking up. It's hard to describe, rpm's are kind of fluctuating when this happens. I didn't change plugs or wires. Plugs are bosch platinums, wires are stock. I'm thinking its possibly plugs/wires or both. Other than that, all I can think of would be fuel filter?

same problem...happens around 4000 and up for me and i did the cc306 so i feel i'm missing out on alot of the power. Please help, i have had friends and oter people say that mine seems that it could be lean and i may try new injectors and a regulator...ms

I wonder if it could have anything to do with the fact that I didn't have the EGR and AIR removed in the computer tune from PCMforless, but I ended up blocking all that off...
Just replaced my fuel filter today, maybe that'll help. If not, maybe plugs and wire |
I've got the same problem. I went into extreme detail with my problem and no one answered it. I know its not opti/coil... So I'm left to think that the fuel pump can't keep up.

So the fuel filter helped some?
If you have old plug wires, change them. They don't last forever. Some people complain about the Bosch plugs, but I don't know if there is something to it. |

While doing the cam swap, I now remember an issue I had with plug #2. I started using the air-in-cylinder method for the valvesprings. Well, we got plug 2 out, but putting it back in didn't work so well. When I tightened it down with my spark plug socket, the socket would not come off. I ended up having to loosen the plug a bit to get the socket off, so that #2 plug may not be as tight as it needs to be. Also, maybe I broke it from pounding on that socket while it was on the plug? :confused: I finished the other half of the springs without air. but #'s 1,2,3, and 4 were done with air. When the plugs came out, they were pretty black. Didn't look at them closely. The plugs are about 1.5 years old I'm thinking of doing some regular taylor spiro-pro wires and new plugs from the dealer |
