Re: stud and rockers

Since the steel rockers polylocks are to tall im using the aluminumr rocker polylocks in there place they should be fine right...because they are shorter...

Re: stud and rockers

Is it possible that you had the pre-load cranked down way to tight and it somehow put all the extra stress on the stud and broke it? I would think this would collapse a lifter first but if your running a solid roller or something ? Who knows ?

Also, it SHOULDNT hurt it running aluminum poly locks ... I would check with someone who has more experiences building engiens first though ...

Re: stud and rockers

Yea I have lt1 97 thats what I thought also I put a new stud fro the other lt1 heads i have and barely tightened the polylock and tightened the hex screw. Lucky I cranked the car up and heard it knocking a little then it changed exhaust tone and started to slap louder pulled the cover pulled the stud out and replaced it... lucky
