stud girdle
can any one tell me if any one makes a stud girdle set up for a 96 lt1?
|
I used a Comp Cams small block girdle for two years on my race motor. I had no problems with the girdle itself other than the fact that it didn't stabilize the valve train adequately at 8200 RPM. Frequent valve adjustments were necessary until I switched everything to a T&D shaft rocker system.

The biggest issue would be to find one that does not interfere with the center bolt valve covers. Next would be to find a set of valve covers that would not hit the stud girdles. Moroso makes one that will do that or you can modify a set.
I bought a summit sbc girdle and did this. http://www.teamandersonracing.com/Pi...StudGirdle.jpg |

So the Summit stud girdle lined up properly with the studs on the factory GM heads?
Hopefully my tall valve covers would clear this girdle. If you install the tall rocker nuts on the rocker studs and don't have interference problems you're pretty good to go once you install the girdle. Good luck! |
