Re: Stroker + charger or solo charger? Need expirenced People

I know the realistics of cost and such, I just need to plan on what I need. I would rather say "look i built this monster to what it is" instead of "look what I bought" I'm more of a driven person to do something rather then to just buy it. I know it wont be cheap, I'm not expecting it to be. But I still need guidence on products and such in general, and guidence where to start with mods. Have done some researching but that only helps so much. Which is why I'm here talking to you Thanks for the input as usual

To answer RPM
Both, 96 z28 intake, short throw kit, underdrive pully system & exhaust comin shortly
That actually helps me quite a bit. The two things that I see are "short throw kit" which I think means you have a six speed transmission.

Second since you answered "both" that means at some point this car is going to be at the dragstrip and if you build a powerful LT1, then you are going to need some sticky tires to put all that power to the ground.

Based on this, I think you should do some research on a 12-bolt rearend for your car. The T56 can be very fatal to the 10 bolt unlike automatics. Regardless of whether you build it turboed, superchagered, nitroused, etc. You are going to need a better rearend.

This is just one of a myriad of supporting upgrades that will be needed besides the actually longblock.

I wouldn't worry about the difference in reliability as far as a 355 - 396 goes. Doesn't Big Rick run like 15lbs on a 396 LT1 running 8's?

That is correct I do have a 6speed. (And proud of it ^_^) lol anyway I'll start looking into that any suggustions such as far as brands/places to shop? Like i mentioned earlier i've been sticking with summit racing thus far. Also what kinda smaller upgrades should i start with now? (know sooner or later i'll need bigger injectors, new fuel pump ect)

I try to do business mainly with summit. But on the rare occasion that I have to order from other places I have had good luck so far with Thunderracing, Combination Motorsports and Jegs.

MAx horsepower was 446 and max torque was 483 on a Dynojet at Dr. Gas in Sandy, Utah. I'm not sure whwere they are with developing one for the F-body, but I assume it can be done just as easily.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I thought this information was pertinent.
I stand corrected. Whoops .

I think Big Rick hit the limit as far as he wanted to
go with his LT1 block. He had posted some figures
around 1200-1300 hp @ ~20+lbs boost. I saw he has
posted it for sale and I think he's going with a Dart block.
