Question stock-y-pipe?

Need to remove stock y pipe....I have been soaking the bolts with pb blaster over the past 2 days. I removed one with ease but the others look like they have actually welded themselves to the stock y pipe. I don't plan on reusing the y pipe so if I break the bolt off will the y pipe still come off.

Thanks, just wanted to make sure if the bolts snapped the pipe would still drop down...don't want to have to drill out any bolts.

I think the studs, or bolts are actually coming from the manifolds, so if you plan on using the manifolds i wouldn't snap the studs.

They are removable. I think you can get them from GM.

15mm is correct. You can also use a 5/8 deep if you don't have a 15mm deep.

I wouldn't recommend snapping them off. They are replaceable, but it's no fun trying to get them out of the manifold. I snapped 2 off of the driver's side a while back and ended up replacing the manifold because it was easier than trying to remove the broken studs from the manifold.

Can you get them to move at all? If you can get 1/4 turn on them, you should be able to work it back and forth (tighten, loosten, tighten, loosten, etc ...) and get it to back all the way out without breaking.

Good luck!
Thomas.
