Stock Rockers with new cam?

I bought the wrong rockers off a guy on here and I have some ordered but they wont be here till the end of the week. So my question is can I put my stock rockers on my new 224/230 cam with comp 987 springs. I know I wont get the lift that I wouldve, but my main question is will it mess up anything. I just wanna get this thing runnin and this is pretty much the last thing.

I don't know why not. However, when you get your rockers and install them and check your geometry and adjustments you are going to have to do it all over again. Patience is often referred to as a "virtue", however when it comes to cars---whether buying, building, etc. it becomes a requisite. When you are in a hurry you can make mistakes and when you make mistakes with these cars, you may wish you had waited for a few days rather than risk the possiblility of having to wait much much longer. Yea I hear you on the getting in a hurry thing. Its just that this swap is taking way longer than it wad supposed to. Murphy's law really did come into affect with me. I might just do everything but the rockers tonight and on thurs (when I can get the new ones) ill put them in. Then I should be good.

Sounds like a plan: You know how to adjust them, right? Get all your tools together and everything else you will need so that you will be ready to go.

Ive been told many times not to run stock rockers with a aftermarket cam. I think it will screw things up in the valvetrain, and resulting in broken parts.

I wouldn't live on the edge with this one. Check out the FS section, I see rockers going all the time. 1.6 and 1.7's.

the slots aren't very long on the factory rockers. You could break a rocker that way pretty easily if the lobe lift is high enough.

Stiffer valvesprings make for increased friction. That's why they make roller rockers.
