Stock LT1 idle speed?

What rpm should a stock '94 LT1 idle at? The car is an A4 if that matters.

My car idles at 1000 in Park, and 800 in gear with the brakes on. Is that normal? It seems a bit high to me for a stock motor*shrug*

Also, the idle seems a bit lopier and louder than other stock LT1's Ive heard running. It might be partly due to the fact the car needs a muffler like yesterday...who knows maybe the car has a cam that i dont know about?

And Im sure youre sitting there scratching your head wondering how the hell this idiot could not know if the motor has the stock cam or not...but I just got the car a month ago. I bought it to part out, but liked driving it so much, I decided to fix up the front end and keep it. it already has a few minor mods, so who knows.

Sorry for getting off topic, and thanks in advance for any answers:)

550rpm for an A4

550rpm in "drive", as noted in the post above, or 650rpm in "neutral". That's with the engine fully warmed up. At cold start there is a table that elevates idle RPM until the coolant reaches 176degF. Remember, the stock tach can read 100-200rpm higher than actual engine RPM. If you have access to a scanner, you could check actual RPM direct from the PCM.
