"Sqeaking" noise coming from the converter area?????
Im trying best to describe the sound, its a sqeaking noise that isnt constant but every other second almost like a belt I guess you could say. We disconnected the belt assuming it might be that but it wasnt and its coming from the tranny area. Its a impala with new heads/cam/converter and trans, which all have about 100 or so miles on it. I can only think of one thing and thats the Flywheel since they are notorious for this, but I thought it would knock like a rod knock and not a sqeak, someone said it might be the trans pump going out. I am clueless.

I had the same thing when my tranny went out and it ended up being the hydraulic pump. |

Really? What else did it do?

Just how you described it. It kind of whined and had a squeeky noise to it. I had to get a new tranny after that.

Well I guess we will have to jerk it out.

Did you check to see that the flywheel bolts were tight?
