Splayed 4 bolt main, dipstick wont fit.

The car has been like this for a while. I can not seem to get the dipstick to fit in. I have tried bending it every way. When I go to put it in, it just hits my cap. I am using milidon caps. Does anyone have any ideas, or pics. thanks a lot.

People have had problems with this before but I can't remember what they did to get around it. Do a search and you should find it.

Best solution is a Pro Gram splayed cap with a notch in it for the dipstick. You can notch the cap but it's a bit late now. Just plug the thing and change the oil often. Hell as an engine builder I never check the oil on my street car, change it when it's time just as long as it doesn't smoke you should be good. On a stroker, yeah you would be more carefull but there is really no good solution to your problem. If the oil leve sender is in there, that will tell you if it gets too low.
