Spedometer cable O-ring leak
Well i said before that my tranny was leaking i went back to jiffy lube and said they messed it up, but he looked under there and said everything they did was ok, and they topped it off for me for free :)
and he told me that it was the spedometer o ring that was leaking... and i dont really want to mess with the tranny, so how much might i expect to get that replaced... and where should i go? the local tranny guy or aamco or the evil dealership? |
There's no speedometer cable on our cars. The speedo is digital and runs off a vehicle speed sensor. Maybe he meant the sensor's o-ring?
If so, you can do it yourself, it's not hard to replace. |
probably thats what he ment, does that seem right that that would leak tranny fluid?
as for transmissions i am clueless so sorry if this is a stupid question |
what do i have to do to replace that?

Disconnect electrical connector. Remove the one hold down bolt for the VSS and pull the VSS out. Some fluid may come out. Replace o-ring (GM PART # 15552872) and reinstall. Torque bolt to 97 lb. in.
