I can't tell you which one is best, but after I finally get fed up with this crappy Spec Stage II... I am going to try an entire SLP setup, flywheel, clutch & PP.

This Stage II worked great for a couple thousand miles, but has really sucked every since.

I even changed my clutch/master cylinder thinking that was the problem.

Others have told me that maybe the stock flywheel was milled to far, but either way I will go the complete route next time.

Well Spec is a pricey clutch and I don't want to buy one if it sucks! The slp clutch and PP is cheaper than the Spec.. Just needin some input on both before I spend anything!
Thanks

Only heard bad things about the stage 2 and good about the stage 3.

Ive had my spec stage 3 kevlar for 13K+ miles and still holds great.

I bought the spec II, i opened the box and looked at the disk. it looks like ****. i dont know how anyone would even chance putting the disc in there car. so i returned it. the craftmen ship on the product was horrible.

so i bought the slp pp and disk. much happier better construction. and you know what not. not nerely as many people complain about the slp clutch than the spec one.

that kevler stage 2 disk looks llike ****, its fuzzy materiel and super thin. i called those hillbillys at spec, and they seem totally clueless. go with slp youll be happy.

Been running a SLP PP, TB, and Disk for 2.5 years now. And I am still pleased with it. It's been to the track many times (though not on DR's, don't think I would trust it). For 320 or so, I thought it was a pretty good deal.

What all do you need to order from slp? I didn't see a kit listed anywhere on there.

Thanks.

You can't get any better customer service than SPEC. If your clutch is having problems, they'll send you a new one without hesitating. Very very nice people at SPEC.

I have had my SLP clutch for about 3K miles and no problems so far. I ordered the clutch disc & pressure plate from them and they both looked like very sturdy pieces. I would suggest, if you order directly from SLP, do it over the phone instead of online. I heard that if you do it online, you might have to wait a couple of days to get a confirmation call from them. Avoid the hassle and confirm it when you order it. I ordered all my SLP parts over the phone and they arrived in about a week.

It more or less depends on what you need from the clutch. I had to pull my tranny 4 times in 2 weeks because SPEC sid there was no way there was a bad spring in my disk. After it was said and done, they said the spring was bad and sent me a new disk. I shipped the clutch back between every removal until it was right. The only problem is that the SLP clutch isn't going to hold the HP like the SPEC Stage 3 will. If your looking for a mild mannered setup for good driveability and occasional track use, the SLP would be the only way to go, but if you are going to be throwing down some HP, I would go with the SPEC Stage 3. SPEC has also revised the design of there clutch dink in the past month or so, so you might want to check on that also. You can always give them a call. They are very nice people.
