i have a "ticking" sound coming from the drivers side. i think it sounds like its coming from the valvetrain. i've checked all the rockers and they're all snug. also, it only ticks when when in gear. i can rev it up while not in gear and there is no sound, but when its in gear it will start ticking. my friend says maybe its an exhaust leak? if anybody has any input it would be appreciated. thx

 

Its probably an ehaust leak. Check all of your header bolts and make sure none of them are loose. On my LT1 it was always the last bolt on the passenger side, under the cowl.

 

One way you can tell if it's an exhaust leak is to put the car into a high gear and put load on the engine. If you hear the tick get louder then yes it's an exhaust leak. Another possibility is a loose spark plug.
